The Tales Calashoe

A blog of many tails and tales.

CALENDAR

Would anyone be open to supporting me in a project akin to Song Shop a la Max Bemis?

Here’s my idea:

For $10 dollars, I will write a story [a good, quality story of appropriate length] or create an art piece [medium of your choice] based either on you as a person, an idea you might have or any topic you might like to further explore.

This small investment would be an excellent social experiment and experience that would very much appease the anthropologist in me [and potential grad requirements] as well as help me earn some extra cash in this dire hour of desperation.

I think the ultimate goal of a project like this would be to build a network in which artists can not only earn compensation and recognition for their work but also create relationships of encouragement and support and generally be accessible to those who believe in them.

What a dream!

If this interests you at all, message me for details or e-mail me at PrinneStore@gmail.com [which is conveniently also my PayPal account.]

Actually, I think every single person on this earth has the right decide what is art and what isn’t. Art is different for every being that experiences it. People absolutely have the right to decide because that is what art is, that is what it does. Art is personal, relative choice.

Keep real art alive by supporting the people who make it.
Buy indie tee shirts, crafts and clothes for your loved ones this holiday season.
Buying people crap doesn’t mean you care. Buying people hand made crap means you care a lot.

Hey guys, I just finished setting up a prints shop at Society 6!  It’s my first time trying this site, but they look cool.  They offer some nifty stuff like traditional prints, canvas prints, laptop skins, iPhone covers, and t-shirts!  I’m posting a lot of pieces that aren’t available on devArt, and I’ll be adding more over time.
Please spread the word! =D

This is what I’ve been working on for the last three weeks. It’s the result of a workshop in Fine Arts with the theme “icons” (computer icons/celebrities/fashion icons/religious icons, etc).

I chose to work with movie icons from two different eras. This project has been a lot about ideals, patterns and anatomy. I named the project Iconatomy from the words “icon” and “anatomy.”

I have worked with a collage technique, but in a computer, which for me is a first. I am really pleased with the end product and I want to develop this concept further.

(Click here to see more of my art.)

Edit: Two things people are wondering about that I thought I could make clear.
1. The pictures are not morphed in any way. What you see is a collage of two different people in each picture. Did it take me a long time to find the right pictures? Hell yes it did! :-)
2. People are commenting on the “comparison” I’m making with these pictures. About that, I just want to say that I am not comparing anything here. Sorry if you feel that your favourite actor or actress was “paired up” with someone you don’t like.

Thank you everyone for liking it so much, I’m really blown away by the feedback I’m getting!
